This book is the first in an action packed trilogy. The Hunger Games Trilogy has become extremely popular, and for a good reason. This dystopian novel is set in a future version of the United States. The country is split into twelve districts, that each specialize in one product (such as coal or food). The districts are all ruled by The Capitol. Every year The Capitol has a competition in order to prove to the districts that it still has power over them. One boy and girl from each district are chosen to fight to the death until only one remains, and this year Katniss has been chosen to compete in the games. This story of life, love, and survival keeps readers glued to the page, unable to stop reading this captivating book.
I read the Hunger Games over the summer and fell in love with the story. It is unlike anything I have read before, and yet it is still so relatable. The action is nonstop, and I fell in love with the characters. With the Hunger Games movie coming out in March, the book is definitely going to become even more popular. I absolutely recomend this book to anyone that likes both action and romance. It is the perfect combination of the two, and leads to a great read.

NEW YEAR, NEW BLOG,
AND THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!
Found that book that just so rocked your world
(or whatever works in your particular brand of parlance)?
Can't wait to tell all your friends about it?
Here's an easy way:
just write a brief (or not so brief) review of it right here in the
WYCKOFF TEEN BOOK REVIEWS blog.
Then mention the blog to said friends, and watch what happens. I'd speculate that they will be adding their own two cents (or is that two dollars, due to recession?) about your review, and maybe even add their own reviews, as well.
Anything can happen! It's a brand new world, or is that just a brand new year? Let's make it special.
